I aimed to do this blog quite frequently but clearly I failed at that. Anyway, here’s some stuff I got in the post the last week or so.

Damage Control – Can’t Keep Us Down 7″ – Crucial Response Records

Great hardcore from Norway, released back in 2002. They broke up in 2006 and members went on to form Common Cause, Death Is Not Glamorous & Another Year.
Picked this up for 99p and it’s the third record I’ve got from them.

Wolf Whistle – Demo 2007 7″ – Troubled Mind Records – /500

I already had the mp3’s of this when I bought it so I knew what to expect, but something about vinyl makes it sound even better.
If you like your hardcore band’s fast, with the ability to play 10 songs in 7 minutes, then this is for you.

War Hungry / Cold World – Split 7″ – Six Feet Under Records – Euro Tour Press 104/108


Two of my most listened to hardcore bands of the last few months on this 7″, only 1 song from cold world which is a bit disappointing but it’s a great song none the less and the War Hungry side is amazing and easily makes up for the lack of cold world.
Got this for 3 quid off ebay which I thought was great considering it’s numbered /108

Take Courage – Tour EP – Fist In The Air Records – 4/30

Had this over a week actually and only just listened to it, I didn’t expect much but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Catch them on tour May 2nd – May 9th and make sure you get a tape!

If you like hardcore you should like The Mongoloids, you should also like Kids Like Us. For these reasons you will love the covers they do of each other’s songs on this split 7″. Might sound like a crappy idea on paper, I’m with you on that one, but there is no doubt these songs are 100% awesome. I actually prefer Mongoloids versions of KLU song’s than the KLU versions. For all you collector types you can get the pre order deal with the awesome limited shirt as well, you can also get /150 pre order covers which are hand numbered.

If you haven’t heard either of these bands I wouldn’t recommend this as a good place to start, although it’s a great record, they are covers so you don’t really hear what the band are like.
For The Mongoloids, start with Time Trials.
For Kids Like Us, start with Outta Control.
